From the comments: Bill and Melinda Gates demonstrate enlightened self-interest at work

May 6, 2014 /

Great stuff from the comment thread: TED community member Craig Reukers shared this in response to the TED Talk by Bill and Melinda Gates: Why giving away our wealth has been the most satisfying thing we’ve done:

“What Bill and Melinda are doing with their wealth is a fantastic example of enlightened self-interest. They are not merely giving their wealth away, but putting it to work for themselves in the most rewarding way possible. That is, in the service of the greater good as best as they can determine what that is. And, inasmuch as the work done determining as much is also to their own good, that too is for the greater good. I like to think we can all achieve similar at whatever scale.”
